Outsourcing Outsourcing.

October 11th, 2007 by The Money Moose

Where do companies go for cheap labor and hard work? No, silly, not illegal immigrants - India! Outsourcing has become a way of life for many businesses. It may come to you as a surprise, though, that India is outsourcing its jobs. Where do Indian companies go for cheap labor and hard work? Apparently, it’s America (an interesting choice, to say the least).

A recent article in the New York Times shows just what’s happening:

“Wipro’s [a company in India] chairman, Azim Premji, told Wall Street analysts this year that he was considering hubs in Idaho and Virginia, in addition to Georgia, to take advantage of American “states which are less developed.””

Virginia, as we know, is the most undeveloped piece of land in the world. Despite being located next to the capital of the United States, it is in fact as barren as Death Valley and people there will work for any wage they can get to support the reconstruction of their village’s water well.

“To fight on the shifting terrain, and to beat back emerging rivals, Indian companies are hiring workers and opening offices in developing countries themselves, before their clients do.”

America is obviously a developing country. In fact, I possess the only computer in the entire country and all other websites that claim to be from the United States are actually IP redirects - America is a big scam. Please send food. My town has just eaten their last goat.

“Such is the new outsourcing: A company in the United States pays an Indian vendor 7,000 miles away to supply it with Mexican engineers working 150 miles south of the United States border.

Eventually, outsourcing is going to look a bit like this:

In the end, nothing’s ever going to get done.
