Frugal Living EXTREME! 8: Thanksgiving
November 22nd, 2007 by The Money Moose
Sadly, my Thanksgiving plans were ruined when I realized that:
- There are few live turkeys in the D.C. area
- There are few hunting spots in the D.C. area
- There are few turkey hunting spots in the D.C. area
- There are few legal turkey hunting spots in the D.C. area
- Turkeys run surprisingly fast despite their appearance
I suppose I’ll simply have to settle for buying from a store. What about you?

Yes, they’ve piled up a few so we don’t have to run so fast. Happy Thanksgiving. Peace to the turkeys.

You could always try hunting a frozen one.
They do not tend to be so sprightly then.

That is quite funny. Buying it from the store would probably have been the easiest solution=)

Ha! Sorry you were disappointed. I, for one, am happy the turkeys can run swiftly. I mean, with that awkward gobble, hideous red wattle on their necks and delicious, juicy meat, they had to catch just one break. Seriously. Run you little turkeys, run!

Two weeks ago, my boyfriend tells me to hurry up and look out the kitchen window. Right next to the neighbor’s car in his driveway is a huge wild turkey.
He must of moved to the city to hide from hunters during the holidays. Funny thing is that I haven’t heard the dog next door bark since then. I am starting to wonder if the turkey ate it!
